Ma come evitare una fregatura e di pagare soldi per un (seppur ben fatto) fake? Semplice, seguite i miei consigli e diventerete delle esperte infallibili!

1. La pelle
Ad esclusione dei modelli in camoscio, le borse Balenciaga sono realizzate in pelle d'agnello. Una pelle morbidissima, riconoscibile al tatto, talmente morbida che la borsa non riesce a stare in piedi da sola.Tale pelle subisce un trattamento per apparire "vissuta", ma non apparirà nè spaccata, nè lucida.
1. Skin
With the exception of suede models, Balenciaga handbags are made of lambskin. A skin that is so soft that the bag can not stand up by itself. This skin undergoes a special treatment to appear "distressed", but it doen't appear neither split nor shiny.
2. Etichetta
A seconda del modello di borsa potrete trovare una targetta metallica o una targetta di pelle, come nel caso della mia City. Le targhette sono cucite solo sul lato superiore:
- la targhetta metallica riporta nella parte frontale il marchio Balenciaga.Paris ed il codice seriale, che dovrà corrispondere al codice seriale riportato sul retro della targhetta;
- la targhetta di pelle riporta nella parte frontale il marchio Balenciaga.Paris, e nel retro il codice seriale della borsa e la certificazione "made in Italy".
2. Label
Depending on the model of the bag you will find a metallic or a leather name plate, such as in my City. The labels are sewn only on the top side:
- The metal plate has the Balenciaga.Paris brand and a serial number on the front, which must match the serial number on the back of the plate;
- The leather plate has the Balenciaga.Paris brand on the front and the serial number on the back along with the certification "Made in Italy".
I manici sono rinforzati con delle cuciture di corda, dello stesso colore della borsa.
3. Handles
Handles are reinforced with a stitching rope, in the same color of the bag.
Non eccessivamente lunga, è attaccata alla borsa con un moschettone ed un anello di ottimo spessore.
4. Shoulder strap
Not too long, it is attached to the bag with a big hook and ring.
5. Specchietto
I principali modelli di Balenciaga contengono un piccolo specchio rettangolare. E' uno specchio rigido e non flessibile come invece gli specchi di molti fake, fatti di plastica. Come tutte le altre parti della borsa, non è mai avvolto nel cellophane.
5. Hand mirror
The main models of Balenciaga comes with a small rectangular hand mirror. It's rigid and difficult to flex, because it is a real mirror, while in many fakes it is a plastic one. Like all the other parts of the bag, it is never wrapped in cellophane.
Le zip devono riportare il marchio Lampo e scorrere con estrema facilità.
6. Zippers
Authentic Balenciaga bags only have Lampo zippers which scroll with great ease.
7. Frange
Sono morbide e delicate.

E infine, una regola che vale per tutte le borse "firmate": diffidate dalle grandi occasioni! Ecco un piccolo schema sui prezzi dei modelli più conosciuti delle Balenciaga: anche una borsa usata non si allontanerà mai eccessivamente dal prezzo originale (a meno di essere in pessime condizioni!).
And last but not least, a rule that applies to all designer bags: beware of amazing bargains! Here's a little scheme of the prices of the most popular Balenciaga models: even a pre-owned bag will never have a much different price from the original one (unless it's in very poor conditions!).
